Can I still search for people if I am not a member?
The answer is no. You will need to be a member to search through our member database. All you need to do is sign up and begin searching. Only enter your profile if you want others to be able to search for you. However to contact other members, you will have to have at least submit a general profile.
What does it cost to use SocialGrid or to be a member
Membership is completely free. Once you are a member, you can begin using SocialGrid to search for people.
Can I use SocialGrid if I am not single?
Yes you can. SocialGrid is not exclusively a free dating service. It can be used in many social neworking situations such as helping you uncover business networking opportunities; form study groups, associations, activity groups, special interest groups; and help you find old classmates, new friends and old friends.
How can people find me if I do not have a personal website or blog?
For those who who do not have a personal website or blog, other members can search you on based on information you provide about yourself on your SocialGrid Profile Page.
If I already have blog or personal website, do I still need to fill out the Profile Form?
Yes, you do if you want to others to be able to find you through SocialGrid. However, your blog or personal website will show up as the search result to drive traffic to your blog or personal website.
Do I have to enter my complete profile on the Profile Page?
No you don’t. Aside from the required general information, you can provide as little or as much information as you like. The information you enter will depend on your use. For example, if you are looking for a job, you may enter information differently than if you are looking for a soulmate. As a note, the more detailed information you provide the more your exact match will be.
Can I delete my profile if I decide to no longer be a member?
Yes, you can delete your profile anytime for whatever reason.
How can I can be reassured that SocialGrid will not go out of business?
SocialGrid does not rely on outside funding or does it have the operating cost
associated with other search or social networking communities since we do not utilize a
database architecture. Our search engine was designed to be cost-effective running on a network of Linux servers. Due to our tagging system, we can fit the population of the United States on a few servers. We rely on word-of-mouth for marketing and we have zero pressure to make money. Unlike our competitors, we have very low operating costs aside from those associated with introducing new added value services. Consequently, we see no reason why we will go out of business other than the fact that people do not like our Search System and we are unable to grow our membership base.
